Series contains items grouped by des Varennes with no apparent arrangement. Contains the largest amount of correspondence when compared to other series in the collection, many of which were written by famous composers and musicians to Henriette Renié. Materials also include photographs and Renié's spritual diary entries written on small pieces of paper (different from spiritual diary carnets in Series IV).

One clipping is for a family reunion in 1971. Also includes an 1827 diary from Henry Smith detailing journeys around New England as a minister, as well as some family happenings. Dated 1827-1971.

Includes many mining maps and reports in different regions in Arizona (Bisbee), Utah (Bingham), Mexico (Cananea), and Peru (Cerro de Pasco). Also inludes business and professional correspondence, profesional affiliations, and reports and surveys, many dealing with the United States Geological Survey, which he worked for from 1900 to 1908.
